Running Day
Sunday 30th March
11:00 - 16:00
This event will mark the beginning of our 2025 season and is running day featuring frequent steam/diesel hauled services as well as the usual activities, Driver for a Fiver, The puffin tyre play park and our shop and café.
This event is easily accessible by car with ample onsite parking. You can also reach the event on foot with our site being only a 10 minute walk from Leven bus and railway stations.​

Easter Bunny
Sunday 20th April
11:00 - 16:00
Our Easter Bunny event will be a fun filled day for all the family with frequent train rides, crafty Easter activities and goodie bags from the magical bunny itself. Easter Special 2025

Driver for a Fiver, The puffin tyre play park and our shop and café will also be open during this event.
​

Bus Bundle
Sunday 27th April
Buses 10:00 - 17:00
Trains 11:00 - 16:00
A returning favourite for 2025 is the FHR Bus Bundle, an event created by our youth members where visitors can enjoy the best of both worlds, train and bus.
​
Attractions will include: Half-hourly bus runs around the Leven coast and countryside, Vehicles on display, Transport related sale stalls, Heritage train services and of course the shop, café and puffin tyre play park. Driver for a Fiver will also be in operation during this event.
​
This event is easily accessible by car with ample onsite parking. You can also reach the event on foot with our site being only a 10 minute walk from Leven bus and railway stations.
​
There will also be free shuttle buses from multiple locations to encourage as many visitors as possible reach the event. Timetables for these services will be released soon.

The Leven Rally
Sunday 29th June
11:00 - 16:00
Visitors at this event will get to view an impressive array of classic vehicles - from cars to motorbikes and tractors to buses, all of which will be taking place inside our Kirkland Yard grounds.
​
At Kirkland Yard you will find our café, shop and tyre play park. This is also where you can board our frequent heritage passenger trains or our Driver for a Fiver loco driving experience.
​
This event is easily accessible by car with ample onsite parking. You can also reach the event on foot with our site being a short 10 minute walk from Leven bus and railway stations.

There will also be a free Shuttle Bus in operation throughout the day to encourage as many visitors as possible reach the event.

Diesel Day
Sunday 27th July
11:00 - 16:00
Experience the sounds and smells of the Fife Heritage Railways diverse diesel fleet at an event dedicated to them.
​
Throughout the day we will operate a special timetable of diesel trains hauling our classic Norwegian coach which has an outdoor viewing area behind the leading locomotive.
​
Other activities will include: Model Diesel Vehicles on display, Transport related sales stalls, a diesel locomotive fact file wall and Driver for a Fiver. Our café, shop and puffin play park will also be open during this event.
​

Doors Open Day
Saturday 13th September 11:00 - 16:00
Sunday 14th September 11:00 - 16:00
During this weekend you will get a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes at the Fife Heritage Railway.
​
Visitors can join guided tours around our yard and inside our main shed and restoration shed. Our Class 313 EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) will be on display at our station platform for you to see inside and lots of other activities will be on offer as well.
​

Trains of Terror
Sunday 26th October
11:00 - 16:00
Join us this Halloween if you dare! ​​​(not too scary though!)
​
The Fife Heritage Railway Trains of Terror event is a family-friendly spooktacular which includes Halloween themed train rides with spooky decorations and costumes being worn by our volunteers.
​
Free Halloween goodie bags will be given out on each train and this is included in the ticket price.
We encourage visitors of all ages to dress up appropriately for this event. We can't wait to see all of your spooky outfits.

Santa Express

This Christmas we will have a weekend of Santa trains where families can meet Santa himself and receive a present too.

Online booking for this event will be required and will go live this November.
